Oatking Design are a consultancy specialising in the design and calculation of tapered insulation systems for flat roofs.
Our team draw upon professional and previous industry related experience to provide impartial advice, providing full scheme designs and thermal calculations in accordance with the latest standards.
We are competent in our understanding of the various insulation types used in tapered insulation schemes, including:
- PIR (Polyisocyanurate)
- EPS (Expanded Polystyrene)
- Stonewool
- Cellular Glass
- VIP systems (Vacuum Insulated Panels)
- Hybrids (combinations of the above)
Our business model is unique in the U.K; working predominantly with insulation and waterproofing manufacturers, with a fee charged upon our clients’ project success. We are also pleased to work at early design stage with the client/end user, architect or surveyor.

Our Process
Working in conjunction with one of our insulation/waterproofing manufacturing partners, we service the specifier or client. Submit your scalable electronic roof plan, with confirmation of the required U.Value.
Confirm any other performance criteria or your desired insulation type. We have experience designing in the complete range of insulant types.
Our team will liaise with you and develop the scheme design, showing the proposed falls and insulation thicknesses, the thermal performance calculated in accordance with BSENISO 6946:2017 Annex E
